The second quarter of 2017 is expected to record an increase in business of 4.5 percent, compared to -6.9 percent in the previous quarter of the year. The performance is expected to record its greatest increase in wholesale, retail trade and services, while the construction sector is expected to have a lower increase during the same period.

The survey also covered the topic of gross revenue increase in 2017, as reported by the interviewed business owners. Only 19 percent of the business owners expected a decrease in revenue, while more than 35% predicted a revenue growth and the rest expected that theirs would remain unchanged. 

The predictions for the gross revenue increase in the second quarter of 2017 pointed out an increase of 7.7 percent while the positive net balance for employees in Malaysia in the second quarter was expected to be 12.6 percent, compared to 2.7 percent in the first quarter.
